Butts County Community Services Division

The Community Services Department was created in 2009 and was formed from the consolidation of the Butts County Animal Control, Code Enforcement, Inspections, Planning & Zoning and Facilities Management Departments. Community Services provides professional advice on zoning matters to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of County Commissioners so that their decisions might serve the best interests of the citizens of Butts County. The department has jurisdiction over properties located within unincorporated Butts County as well as providing the functions of zoning for the cities of Jackson and Jenkinsburg. Animal Control and Code Enforcement Activities are provided for the entire county. Currently, the department is overseen by Douglas Manning, an experienced planner with many years of project management experience. Community Services employs a staff of professionally trained personnel with a variety of specialities and provides the following services:

*Building Maintenance for County Facilities
*Building Permitting, Certificate of Occupancy
*Code Enforcement
