			The Board of Elections and Registration serves as the Elections Department for all of Butts County and the cities of Jackson, Jenkinsburg and Flovilla. It oversees the individual elections in all four jurisdictions. The five-member board oversees and certifies all elections and the day to day operations of the department are handled by an appointed Elections Director. Avery Smith has served in this capacity since 2009; prior to that, she served as a Board Member from 2004 to 2009 and served as a poll worker and clerk for many years before that when elections were supervised by the Probate Court.
