Butts County Leisure Services Department

The Leisure Services Department is responsible for the Quality of Life services offered by Butts County through its various departments and consists of the Parks Department, Public Library and Senior Citizens Center. The Parks Department is responsible for local parks, organized sports and athletic programs, youth camps and summer programs. It oversees the various sports programs ranging from baseball, softball, soccer, football, tennis, basketball and several community leagues that participate in these programs. The public library provides numerous opportunities for citizens to avail themselves of publications, periodicals, electronic media, historical research and much more. The Butts County Senior Citizens Center offers a wide variety of social activities for our elderly population and opportunities for fellowship and comraderie.

Butts County Public Library

The public library maintains a vast array of books, periodicals and other media for use by citizens of Butts County. It is part of the larger Flynt River Regional Library and the Georgia PINES network which opens the library up to a much larger collection of reading and media materials availability.  Many children's reading programs are conducted by the Library and volunteer opportunities are always available.

The County Librarian position is currently vacant. The Library Board is working on naming a successor in the upcoming weeks.
