| Sergeant Timothy (T.J.) Jackson passed away on March 4, 2008 at the age of 45. Sergeant Jackson has worked as a Patrolman and later, patrol Sergeant at the City of Jackson Police Department from July of 1988 until November of 1998, after which he transferred to the Butts County Sheriffs Office. For the past nine-plus years, he has worked in the Investigations Division as an Investigator and later, Sergeant of Investigations. T.J. was well respected in the community and by his colleages in the law enforcement family. He was well known for his calm, cool manner that allowed him to work with people and help them as well as find and bring perpetrators of crimes to justice. His knowledge of computer systems was among the highest of any employee working with either the City or the County and he was involved in some of the first installations of modern computers in the early 1990's with Jackson, knowledge he carried with him to the Sheriffs Office where he played an integral role in computerization of that agency. Sergeant Jackson was a vital part of the community and will be missed by many people who knew him and whom he had gotten to know over the years. A picture will be posted soon. | ||||||||||||||
