	The Community Development Department provides professional advice on zoning matters to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of County Commissioners so that their decisions might serve the best interests of the citizens of Butts County. The department has jurisdiction over properties located within unincorporated Butts County as well as providing the functions of zoning for the cities of Jackson and Jenkinsburg. Currently, the department is overseen by the County Administrator and employs a staff of professionally trained personnel with a variety of specialities and provides the following services: *Building Inspections, all performed by trained, certified inspectors *Building Permitting, Certificate of Occupancy *Code Enforcement *Planning, Land Use and Subdivision Ordinances *Zoning
